Inland Fisheries Consumption Pattern and Factors Among Rural Households of Mopani District Municipality, Limpopo Province, South Africa

The consumption of fish is accepted by all ages and social groups. Moreover, rich in both micro, macro-nutrients minerals which are suitable for human development. objectives the study was to profile socio-economic characteristics households Mopani District Municipality, describe rural households’ pattern inland fisheries and, analyse factors that influence area. A total 134 were interviewed using structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Household Dietary Diversity Score Binary Logistic model adopted achieve these objectives. results showed Bass, Tilapia, Catfish Carp most preferred species However, Tilapia dominating weekly purposes. regression revealed age gender household positively while, access fisheries’ market has a negative relationship with consumption. To this end, concludes inclusion as food availability markets necessary improvement healthy life.
